Artist Luis Miguel ~ Colorful, Vivid, and Cutting-Edge Masterpieces

Meet Luis Miguel, the Arizona-native artist that blends pop culture, vivid colors, and pellet knife techniques to create one-of-a-kind masterpieces!

What started at eight years old as a passion project has turned into a thriving career here in Arizona. Luis Miguel sat down with Mel.Media to talk about his artistic style and how you can get one of these colorful pieces for yourself!

So Luis, when did you start getting into art and painting?

Ever since I was eight years old, I started drawing on walls and then moved on to sketching on paperback. When I was younger, I focused on using traditional tools like pens, pencils, charcoal, and whatever else I could get my hands!
It was at the age of 18 I started experimenting with painting.

I didn't know much, but I didn't quit! And now, I paint beautiful masterpieces with a personal connection with me, full of colors and emotion.

How would you describe your style of art?

My art style falls into the contemporary "pellet knife" type. A palette knife is an essential tool used by artists to mix several colors on the palette and scrape paint off the palette when finished painting. It consists of a long, straight blade that is also somewhat flexible.

What's your favorite aspect of being an artist?

My favorite is taking a blank canvas, having a vision, and then seeing it executed to completion. My favorite part is always having other individuals appreciate and value my talent. That's the ultimate compliment for an artist, having someone love your work.

What are you currently working on, any big projects coming up?

I'm working on a series incorporating some original characters from Super Mario. It should be a lot of fun, and I cannot wait to debut it.

What do you do when you are not painting?

I love animals and recently got a complete chicken coupe in my home! Plus, it takes up a lot of my time with all my other pets.

Where can people view your work and get in touch with you?

You can view all my work on Instagram! Feel free to reach out for any inquiries. I'm also working on getting my work into a few galleries so people can purchase my art there!

I will keep you all updated when that happens.

Mel.Media wants to thank Luis Miguel for his time and can't wait to see what he will drop next!
